What is the difference between a medical spa and a regular spa?

The difference between medical spas and regular spas is that medical spas are overseen by medical professionals and offer a wider variety of treatments than regular spas. The treatments offered at medical spas are also more involved, using the latest technology to resurface skin, rejuvenate collagen production, shed fat, and more.

What type of treatments do med spas offer?

Medical spas offer a variety of treatment types. As aesthetic specialists, we treat conditions like acne, acne scarring, enlarged pores, melasma, rosacea, loose skin, stretch marks, sun damage, unwanted hair, wrinkles, even excess sweating. We address these through treatments such as Botox® injections, dermal filler injections, BBL facials, laser facials, medical-grade chemical peels and more.

How are med spa treatments different from plastic surgery?

Med spa treatments differ from plastic surgery because they are minimally or noninvasive. While med spa treatments and plastic surgery procedures often address the same aesthetic concerns, med spa treatments offer a less aggressive approach for people who are unwilling or unable to undergo surgery.

Do you offer financing on medical spa treatments?

When people consider medical spa treatments, cost and budget rank highly in the list of concerns. Drip Drop IV Hydration & Med Spa believes cost should not stand in someone's way when they're pursuing their aesthetic goals. Our pay later option offers 4 installments of interest-free payments so you can easily fit your desired treatments into your budget. This option is available to services costing as low $50.00 and up to $1500.00. Due to a deposit of 30% being required when booking, the pay later option will only come in effect when the amount after the deposit is greater than $50.00.

Do you offer any specials/discounts?

Here at Drip Drop we offer premier services to our clients while also offering special savings. Throughout the year, we may offer specials for a limited time at a discount.  This may be advertised on our website, through Google or other social media platforms, or in person. We offer savings through our packages and memberships, which can be found under "PACKAGES/MEMBERSHIPS".  We also have a reward point system. The more you shop, the more you can build up points. Various services have a set number of reward points you will receive upon purchase; once your points build up, you may redeem the set amount of points to go towards an eligible service (we don't accept partial points; total amount of points must be redeemed for selected service). If you have something special happening in your life, like a birthday/anniversary/giving birth, we may give you a special discount as well. Keep in mind that we strive to honor such special occasions but discounts are not automatic or guaranteed.

Does insurance cover Botox® or other med spa treatments?

In almost no circumstances does medical insurance cover Botox® or other medical spa treatments. In certain instances, insurance may cover Botox® for sweating. You should reach out to your insurance company if you suffer from hyperhidrosis and want to seek treatment via Botox® injections.

Can anyone who works at a med spa perform treatments?

Anyone who works at a med spa CANNOT perform treatments. Performing laser facials, injections, and other types of med spa treatments requires appropriate training and certification and should still be overseen by the medical professional.

Are medical spas only for female patients?

No! Medical spas are not only for female patients. Men are just as susceptible to aging as women, and they're just as entitled to not be satisfied with the way they're aging. At Drip Drop IV Hydration & Med Spa, we provide a comfortable and caring environment for everyone.

Can I schedule my appointment online?

We made it easy to book your appointment online and anyone is welcome to call us to book an appointment over the phone. You can contact us to learn more or get started booking your consultation!

What is an IV?

IV is short for intravenous (in the vein). We provide IV hydration by using a small catheter that’s placed directly into your vein. This allows us to hydrate you more effectively and efficiently than if you were to drink water. Yes, there is a small poke with a small needle, but once the vein is accessed, the needle comes out and the plastic catheter is left in its place.

What is IV Therapy?

IV therapy is a method to quickly administer fluids, vitamins, and minerals directly into the bloodstream. By going directly into the bloodstream, your body can absorb 100% of the vitamins; taken orally vitamins experience about 20% hydration due to the digestive tract. Our services are meant to act as supplements and not to replace oral hydration.

Is IV Therapy safe?

IV Therapy is very safe. All IV Therapy is administered by a licensed nurse and performed under a licensed medical provider and supervised by a medical doctor. Before a client receives IV therapy, their health history is evaluated. Side effects from an IV drip are generally non-existent or very mild. On occasion, you may experience some discomfort, bruising, itching, inflammation, or redness at or around the site of injection, and this could last from a few minutes to several days. However, true allergic reactions are extremely rare.

How long does it take?

The whole process may take 30-90 minutes to complete. There are a few forms to complete prior to your infusion as well as a quick medical assessment.

How often should I get an IV?

The frequency of IV therapy is determined on a client-by-client basis. We take a customized approach to suit your individual needs. For preventative health and wellness, we recommend two IV drips per month to start out with to help balance out any vitamin deficiencies, but one drip a month is usually sufficient enough for maintenance.

Why are vitamins and antioxidants important?

Our bodies need a consistent amount of vitamins and minerals to promote homeostasis and optimal health. Vitamin deficiencies can contribute to a variety of acute and long-term conditions. Antioxidants are an essential part of maintaining a healthy immune system, detoxifying your body and removing free radicals that can contribute to cellular damage. Antioxidants also play a role in energy production.

What kinds of IV add-on services do you offer?

We offer a selection of vitamin and medication shots and IV add-ons, including:

B complex

B12 shot

Glutathione

Zofran

Toradol

Biotin

Vitamin C

Pepcid

Lipo Mino Blend

and More!

Do you provide IV services for events or private parties?

Yes, we can offer mobile IV services for for small, medium, and large events. We can also offer services for private parties. Our group IV services generally include a stationed nurse. Contact us to learn more about how we can accommodate your event.

How old do I have to be to get your med spa services?

18+

Can I get IV Therapy if I'm pregnant?

Unfortunately, we won't be able to perform any IV/IM services without a doctor's order if you are pregnant.

Who should not get an IV infusion with vitamins/minerals?

People with kidney and active liver disease should be treated with extreme caution. People with congestive heart failure or end stage renal disease have potential for serious harm from receiving fluids.

Do I need to get any labs prior to an IV infusion?

Certain IV treatments may require blood testing; however, the majority of commonly administered IV treatments using water-soluble nutrients do not require blood testing prior to the appointment.

Clients with renal or hepatic conditions may require blood testing to confirm they are healthy enough to receive an IV cocktail.

Blood work is highly recommended if injectable vitamin D3 (IM/SQ only) is administered as part of the treatment to confirm vitamin D levels prior to supplementation and to prevent overdosing. Blood testing also helps to rule out other sources of vitamin D3 the patient may be taking. The most common test administered is the 25-hydroxy vitamin D test.

Should I get IV Hydration if I feel sick?

We recommend talking to your doctor first as there may be something more serious and acute going on. Although IV nutrients/minerals are generally safe, they aren't to be substituted in the place of seeing your doctor or going to the Urgent Care/ER in the case of an emergency. In certain cases, like dehydration or hang-over relief, we can provide IV Hydration, but usually we recommend IV Hydration as an addition to your lifestyle to maintain/improve your wellness, not to treat a condition.

What should I do before and after a Vitamin/Mineral Infusion?

To have a safe and effective IV therapy session, it is important that you adhere to the following pre- and post-visit instructions.

Before your appointment:

  •     Plan to be at the clinic at least 15 minutes before your infusion to fill out necessary paperwork if you are a first-time client.

  •     If you are a repeat client, then arrive 5 minutes before infusion.

  •     Drink plenty of water prior to your infusion and eat a light meal (carbs and protein).

  •     You can take your regular medications as normal on the day of treatment. If possible, try to avoid taking any over-the-counter antihistamines or decongestants the day of your appointment. Many of these over-the-counter drugs such as Sudafed PE contain vasoconstriction medications that cause your blood vessels to constrict making it difficult to get an IV injection.

After your IV infusion:

  •      Continue to wear dressing applied to the IV infusion site for 1 hour to prevent break through bleeding.

  •      You can apply cold packs or take naproxen (Aleve)/Tylenol, if not contraindicated, for any post injection/infusion pain.

  •    A light meal and 16 ounces of water or more are recommended after the infusion. If enough water is not consumed, you many experience any of the following symptoms: headaches, nausea, joint pain, blurred vision, cramping (GI and/or muscular), mental confusion or disorientation.

  •   Avoid alcohol for a while to allow your liver to recover from the toxin load from your cells.

  •   Take a magnesium salt bath. The magnesium can help draw out more toxins from your skin, speeding up the process of toxin extraction.

  •   Monitor your IV site for redness, pain, warmth, or swelling. This could be a sign of infection or an adverse reaction. If this occurs, please call Drip Drop IV Hydration & Med Spa at (478) 333-1092.

  •   Continue routine follow up with your mental health and/or primary care provider for continued treatment and evaluation.

  •   If any mild side effects occur such as hives, nausea, fever, cramping, headaches, or any additional non-life-threatening symptoms, please call Drip Drop IV Hydration & Med Spa at (478) 333-1092 immediately. If it is after hours, then please report to your closest urgent care or emergency department.

  •   If you have diarrhea like symptoms, do not take anti-diarrheal but let the body dispose of as much poop as it needs to.

  •   If you have constipation type symptoms, take high dose oral vitamin C and magnesium which can cause loose motion (a good thing here).

  •   If you are familiar with intermittent fasting, it’s a good thing to try to let your digestive system take a break. Alternatively, consider going on a bone broth day. The fat and protein in the broth should keep you satiated. If you would like to do a juice fast instead, do include lots of vegetables in it as a fruit only juice can make you feel worse (due to its effect on insulin). Add some coconut oil to it to slow down absorption of glucose.

  •    If any type of serious adverse events occurs such as diffuse hives, shortness of breath, trouble swallowing, chest pain, severe headache, changes in consciousness, increase pain/swelling in the arm that the infusion was given in, or anything else that is concerning, call 911 or report to the emergency department immediately.

  •  You can expect to feel improvements in your symptoms within 15-90 minutes of your infusion. These effects can last up to 1 to 1 and a half weeks.

  •   Clients can present for repeat infusions every 2 weeks unless determined otherwise by your treating provider.

***In a nutshell, keep going with the cocktails and make sure that you inform the clinic you had your IVs regarding side effects, if any. Most these should pass and in the long run, you will have healthier cells.***

Most clients experience significant overall improvements:

           *Better energy

           *Better mental clarity

           *Improved sleep

           *Improvement of their complaints

           *Overall feelings of well being

Clients commonly report one of the two patterns after IV Vitamin Therapy Infusion:

*Clients generally feel better right away. Due to a busy lifestyle, many people are chronically dehydrated and deficient in vitamins and minerals causing them not to feel well. Once the patient is hydrated and the nutrients are replaced, their symptoms improve quickly.

*Clients feel tired or unwell. These clients are generally in the process of detoxifying. When toxins are pulled out of tissues, they re-enter the blood stream. They remain poisons, but they are now on their way OUT instead of on their way IN. Even when patients do not feel well at this stage, the process is one of healing and cleansing. After this period, an overall improvement in one’s sense of well-being is generally reported.
